If you want to be the know it all when it comes to nightlife and fun, Platform 35 is the perfect destination for a diverse crowd & options.

In the 1960’s, Koreans began immigrating to America in large numbers. As race tolerance was low at that time, Koreans began opening up their own business’s and developing a community in the area we know now as Koreatown.

Today the neighborhood is considered one of the most densely populated regions of Los Angeles, with 120,000 residents in just over 2.5 square miles of land. The Koreatown community is popular for its vibrant night-life, unique eateries, and an abundance of development.

You can admire the Art Deco styled architecture up the street at the Wiltern. Originally it opened as part of the Warner Brothers Western Theatre chain and later saved from demolition through the intervention of Wayne Ratkovich. This building still stands as a place to work up an appetite by checking out popular artists like Sabrina Claudio or even the Russian Ballet Theatre.

Koreatown has LA’s best karaoke behind The Line Hotel at Breakroom 86 karaoke & cocktail bar. The neighborhood also has the city’s best places to get items you wouldn’t expect, including arts supplies, kitchen tools, and toys. It even has a synagogue with awesome art and a four-story driving range.

Pick a Saturday! Grab some friends! Take this list of great things to do in Koreatown! And drive towards Wilshire & Normandie! You might not get through all of them, but we challenge you to try!

Wilshire Boulevard is thriving with culture. If you’re in town for the weekend you can attend a Sunday service at the beautifully built Oasis Church building right across the street from Platform 35.
